Even though my husband and I did not plan to homeschool our children prior to middle school, we decided to homeschool our daughter with Autism after a problematic year in Kindergarten. We then continued to homeschool all four of our children for seven years.
Blogging about Homeschool
When we began homeschooling in 2010, I decided to publish the details of our family’s school at my first homeschooling blog, Growing Up Homeschooled. Through that website, I provided everything from detailed accounts of my lesson plans (for children second grade and under) to creative solutions for schooling a child with special needs.
Bringing 2 Blogs Together
As the details of my day increased, I found that my life was out of balance. Blogging while homeschooling and managing our home was becoming more difficult and there was still so much more that I wanted to share with my readers. So, in January 2012, I combined the two websites into one, Meet Penny, to write about frugal living and homeschooling as well as Autism, cooking, entertaining, and more.
